Overview

Ladakh is a region administered by India as a union territory and constitutes a part of the larger region of Jammu and Kashmir. It is located in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent and is known for its breathtaking landscapes, high mountain ranges, and distinct culture.

The Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Monastery, and Diskit Monastery are among the notable religious and cultural sites.

Ladakh has become a popular destination for adventure tourism and trekking. The Pangong Lake, Nubra Valley, Magnetic Hill, and Tso Moriri Lake are some of the tourist attractions. The region also attracts motorcycle enthusiasts due to its challenging terrain and high-altitude passes.

Due to its strategic location along the borders with China and Pakistan, Ladakh has geopolitical significance. The region has witnessed tensions and conflicts between India and its neighboring countries.
